David Reumüller documents found as well as staged sceneries on video to subsequently cover the rooms‘ furniture and objects with white sheets, as if the location had already been abondoned for a very long time.
Onto these scenarios, only seemingly devastated by their former inhabitants, Reumüller projects his videosequences precisely onto the objects and furniture present beneath the sheets. By doing so the artist creates almost ghostlike, spatial interventions. The timely dimension of our past and present acts and experiences become subject of these works through the enmeshment of the spatial intervention and the video projection of the room‘s former appearance.
By projecting his videosequences onto the objects that silhouette against the sheets they are covered by, Reumüller makes visible that an activity might have happened inside the room before without witnesses. By the same token we do not know about the congruency of the present and the documented scene.
