„Exposure o.T.“ exhibition view Sharjah Art Museum 2017/2018
The installation “exposure o.T.” con- sists of two synchronised projections of the same digital image. Due to the fact that one projection shows the positive image and the other one the negative (inverted) projection, the im- age information mostly balance each other out. A texture is perceptibel in dimly grey tones only.
As the audience passes through the projection, the real image becomes visible. Stepping though one projec- tion reveals the positive image while stepping though the other projection uncovers the negative image. Visitors can also erase each others’ images by overlapping their shadows which results in a black spot.
The “impact” of the audience can therefore expose parts of the image. Information can be made visible and also conjointly erased.
Hence, the audience determines which images are created based on the original information.
